Our New Home

It's been a while since I've actually talked about what's really going on in our lives, so here goes:

We're in Idaho now, and we love our little place. We're renting a 3 bedroom apartment that is on the ground floor. We have a back door which makes it really easy to let Nelly in and out. We have our new couch, a new TV stand, and a new reading lamp for me! We also have a computer desk right behind our couch with a monitor hooked up to Rob's new laptop, so it's like a desktop. I really like it.

I'm still in the process of unpacking and hanging things on the walls, but everything we need is done. The only things not unpacked are boxes that we haven't gotten into in a few years, so I'm trying to sort through what we should keep and what can go to DI. Hopefully I'll have a nice sized donation in a few more weeks. We only signed a lease for a year, so we'll be moving again next May. Our goal is to get rid of at least 4-5 boxes worth of stuff. It'll make the next move easier.

We're renting a garage in our complex where Rob keeps his dirt bike and his road bike. We have all our outdoors stuff out there, along with tons of other things. We're keeping all our boxes to reuse, so they're all broken down in there as well.

Rob loves his new job. He officially started working last Monday, June 13th. The grand opening was Saturday, June 18th. For being brand new, his store has been doing pretty well. He's really busy and has been working almost 12 hour days for 2 weeks now. But, he said he doesn't mind it at all. He really likes it, which is great.

I'm still looking for a job. I've only been looking for about 5 days, and I've only applied for 2 positions so far. They're both Teller positions at Credit Unions, and they're both full time. I had an interview yesterday with one of them, and she called me back today and wants another interview with the branch manager I'd be working under. I really hope this goes through. It sounds amazing. Plus, I love credit unions because we get all the federal holidays off. And, since this is a full time position, I'd still be paid for an 8 hour day on those holidays! There are just so many good things about this credit union, so I hope my interview tomorrow goes well. I'm ready to be working again. It was nice at first to just hang around all day, but I'm already sick of it and I've only been up here for a week and a half. :)

Nelly loves our place. She is currently watching outside during a thunderstorm. (I hope this is a regular occurrence for Idaho Falls. If it is, I'm sure I will love this city!) She's going to be pretty sad when she has to go back to being in her house for 7-8 hours a day. It's been about 6 months since she's been in that routine. Hopefully she handles it well. I don't want my house torn apart at night because she has so much energy. :)

We really like Idaho Falls. It's really calm and slow feeling up here. It's like a big city with a small town feel. It's nice. We're really grateful we've had this opportunity with Rob's job.
