China Day 21 - Tuesday June 7

This morning the tailor was supposed to be here at 9 with my dress and skirts. So, we were all up early. He didn’t show up until around 9:30, but everything ne brought me worked out great. When he was gone, we left and headed to the underground “fake” market. We needed to exchange a purse, and we got a few things there as well. One of them being a new set of luggage for me. It’s dark purple and I really like it! There is a huge suitcase, a medium size one, and a carry on size. It only cost 500 kuai, which is roughly $75. It’s an awesome deal and as long as it holds up on the planes, I’ll be really happy.

Then we went to the pearl market. I wanted to get a few more things there too. I got quite a bit of jewelry and I even bought a circular earring hanger stand that spins. I really wanted it, but the lady only had the two that had her things on display. She said I could buy one of those if I wanted to though, so I did. My mom, Amie, I, and the shop owner spent 10 minutes just taking her earrings off and putting them in baggies. It was pretty funny.

After that, we headed over to the fabric market to get the rest of our things. Everything was perfect, and we were probably only in there for 10 minutes. It was a nice change from what happened yesterday. Then we headed over to the Green Court shopping center for some lunch. We ate at Cameo, an Italian restaurant that was delicious. Then we went to Subconscious Day Spa because we’d made appointments for massages. This time, we got a full body massage laying on those cool tables. It was 90 minutes long, and I didn’t want it to end! I’ve never been so relaxed in my whole life! I’m definitely going to have to do that again.

We walked home, and got ready to leave again for dinner. We at at Yi Café which is a restaurant in the Shangri-La in Shanghai. It was so neat! It’s a buffet that has all sorts of food. They had Chinese, Moroccan, American, Italian, Japanese, and tons of other things. Plus deserts and take home candy boxes. It was so good!! It was a good last night.

Now we’re at home, and I’m packing. I’m almost done, and I think I’ll fit everything. I only brought one suitcase over here, and I am allowed two. So I’m taking the biggest purple one, with the cabin sized one inside that. My parents are going to bring the medium sized one over with them this summer.

It’s been such a fun trip, and I’m really glad I was able to come. I’m excited to go home to though. I’ve missed Rob and Nelly so much!! I’m really excited to see them tomorrow!!
