For those of you who know my in-laws, this was their Christmas letter this year.

"We're going to the dogs! This year brought three new dogs to our family. First things first, though: A well meaning but misguided citizen, with the sheriff looking on, sent beloved Chuck (Rob and Melissa's Yellow Lab) back to his maker for doing nothing more than chasing a deer. We were heartbroken, but know Chuck has gone to heaven as all dogs do. We were all blessed a few months later, however, when Rob and Melissa added to their family a beautiful blonde baby girl West Highland Terrier named Nelly. She has temporarily moved into our house (along with Rob and Melissa in a short transition back to our area - Rob was just promoted in the Simply Mac family and Melissa transferred to Weber State University to finish her accounting degrees).
Then we were graced with two more additions to our family. One was a beautiful dark skinned baby boy Old English Bulldog named Gargamel, an addition to Sally's family. The other was a wonderful Boston Terrier (Pabst) owned by one Matthew Detorres who, by the way, is now engaged to be another addition to Sally's family! That's right: Sally is engaged to a great fellow whom we all think is terrific and a lucky catch!
These doggies converge often in our house, along with cousin Cathy's Chihuahua named Streak, for a raucous fun-filled time. They are all cousins who love to get together and are best friends. I don't know if our house will survive all of the excitement.
Anyway, I don't have a dog of my own. I started junior high this year and simply don't have time for such things. I'm also a Beehive in Young Womens, play basketball and softball and soccer, and I talked my parents into running the Huntsville 4th of July Race with me (my mom's first), where they each took first place in their age divisions (and I do mean age). In fact, Dad took second and third place also in his division - he never could stand competition.
We love you and wish you a Happy 2011!!
- Lizzy Knowles (and Linda, David, Sally, Matt, Melissa, and Robert)"
