So I know it's been an incredibly long time since I was on here and gave an update. Rob's out playing basketball right now, so I figured I could hop on real quick. I've been pretty busy lately, it seems.
I'm still working out, shooting for 5 days a week. My original goal was 6 days a week, but I think that's too much. I wasn't enjoying it and was dreading it everyday. This way, I know that if I can just make it for the 5 week days, I get to take the whole weekend off, and I love it! I'm getting stronger and stronger, and more tone. I still haven't lost any weight, but I don't mind that. I can see a difference in how much I can handle at the gym and how hard my trainer pushes me. I love feeling healthy like this. I still need to start eating healthier, but it's especially difficult right now because...
Rob and I are on a budget now! We've never set a budget because we've always been able to moderately monitor our spending. Well a month ago we decided that if we set a budget, we could get out of debt a lot faster and really start to save. We created this budget, that might seem kinda crazy. We've accounted for all our bills and monthly things we can't afford. We are giving ourselves $60 for eating out, $200 for groceries and anything else that needs to be bought at Wal-Mart, $300 for gas (which we know is way too much now, so we might change our budget a little after this first month is over) and $30 for gas to go in a gas can so we can go dirt biking this summer without blowing our budget. Everything else we had left, we divided up to go certain places, on certain loans and in savings. All we can change is the amounts I just mentioned. I tried budgeting about 2 years ago, and it just didn't work because Rob wasn't really on boat then. However, he is now, so in order to make us stick to our budgets, we're pulling it all out in cash and sticking it in designated envelopes. Once it's all used up, we just have to wait until the next pay period when we'll pull out half of everything. It's really hard to not just go buy what's on my grocery list. And it's a pain having to add things up as we go to make sure we don't go over our $100 limit every two weeks. But, we love it! Until tonight, we hadn't been out to eat in almost a month, and haven't bought anything without paying cash for it. I can't believe we didn't do this sooner. :)
Tonight, we went out to eat. We were celebrating. It's our 4 year anniversary today!! We went to The Snake Bite, which is definitely my favorite restaurant in Idaho Falls. After dinner, Rob came home and mowed our lawn and I went out to get a shake. :) We didn't do anything extraordinary, but going out to eat was special because we don't do that very often anymore. Rob's a great guy, I love him. He was so overly nice to me today, so it was a great anniversary.
Last weekend, we were in Utah for the Supercross. We love the Supercross and go every year. This year we were lucky and were at the Anaheim 2 race and the Salt Lake race. Rob and I got down to Salt Lake around noon and walked around town for a little while, we went to the new City Creek Mall, and then headed out to the stadium. We watched the practices, walked through the pits, saw the riders, and got a few autographs. We weren't in the lines at all, but I caught one of the racers attention and threw him Rob's hat. He signed it for me and threw it back! We got free license plate border things, and a few other small things. Rob loves the practices, but I love the pits. :) My favorite rider wasn't there because he hurt himself early this season and is out till next year. Most of the other really good riders were also gone on injuries, (it's been a really crazy injury season) but it was still super fun and was a great race! We didn't get home till almost 1 in the morning and then we went to sit on Rob's cousin Blake's hot tub with him. We went to bed about 3 in the morning. We were exhausted on Sunday. But, it was all worth it. I can't believe how much I love Supercross and dirt bikes. I'm so glad I married Rob and he introduced me to how fun they are! I can't wait till I can get out and ride mine this season. Hopefully all the working out I've done will help me have better endurance and be able to push myself more than last year.
Nelly's still as spoiled as ever. Around Christmas time, she started breaking out of her kennel. I don't know how she was able to accomplish this, but she did. All the time! Her nails would be broken off from scratching at the door and one time it was so low that it had bled. Rob and I decided she wouldn't need to go in there anymore. Up until that point, she was in her kennel every time we were gone. Now, all she does is sleep! We were worried at first that she might cause mischief, but nope, all she does is sleep. She sleeps on our bed for the whole morning and she's always in the exact same spot when we get home for lunch that she was when we left. Then, we open the blinds at the front of the house for her, and she sleeps/watches on the back of the couch with her head rested on the window sill. She's so funny to see watching us when we get home. Tonight she was so excited that she stood up on the window sill, with her whole body on it! I didn't think she was that small, but apparently she can still fit. It's hilarious and we love being greeted by her now. She's a well behaved puppy. :)
That's about all that's going on in our lives. I'll try to update more often. I'm sure there are things I'm forgetting right now, but I'll try to get on more often and then I won't forget them!
