I DO! I finally do! I got a job this afternoon!!
I guess I shouldn't say finally, because it hasn't been that long. I only started applying a week and a half ago, but it feels like it's been a long time. I'm going to be doing data entry for a company that is outsourced to handle mortgage documents. It's nothing special, but it's a full time job, and that's exactly what I wanted.
It was actually pretty easy to get the job too. On Sunday, we were speaking with a guy who said his company was going to have multiple data entry jobs available in a few weeks and if I was still looking, I should apply. This morning, Rob got a phone call from that same man. He didn't have our number, but he remembered that Rob said he worked for SimplyMac. He called the store and got Rob's cell number from them. Rob was home when he called, so I was able to speak with him right then. He said the positions were posted online, and he told me exactly how to apply for it. I told him I'd do it right away, which I did.
2 hours later, he called me for an interview, wondering if I could be there in 30 minutes. So I was.
When I first got there, they had me take some typing tests, and had me take them multiple times because they said every time I took them, I improved. :) Then I had to fill out tons of paperwork, and while I was filling it out, the guy I was interviewing with asked if I was sick of it yet. Haha, I told him I was alright, but he said, "Well, if this all lands you a job next week, will it be worth it." Of course!
So we went through the interview, and the whole time he was sounding like he was going to hire me, and I met a few other people at the company, including the owner. I told him I was going to be gone next week on vacation, but could start on July 12th. Then he started talking about orientation on the 12th. So I asked him, "So, should I just plan on that then?" He said, "Yup." I told him I didn't mind the paperwork, and definitely didn't expect to walk out of there with the job already. I was so happy!!
I feel so relieved. We (my whole family minus Rob cause he can't leave work) are going to Lake Tahoe next week for our reunion and we leave Monday. I start work Tuesday. I'm so excited.
The only downfall is that it's pretty early. The hours are 7:30-4:30, but, it's worth it. First of all, I'll be home super early. Secondly, on Fridays we leave at 3:00. Thirdly, it's a job and I don't care much about the weird hours!!
So, to follow up my post from yesterday, I guess there will be no more laying out with Nelly like I hoped...Oh well. :)
