Sunday, February 20th, was NELLY'S 1ST BIRTHDAY!! She's a whole year old now! I can't believe my little baby isn't a puppy anymore. :) But she'll always be a puppy to me.
We didn't buy anything for her because the night before her birthday, when we were planning on getting her something, it was a blizzard!! We went down to Salt Lake for a wedding reception for one of Rob's best friends and on our way home, we decided we needed to go straight home instead of stopping. It's a good thing we did go straight home cause on our way there, we could barely see the road! It was crazy!!
Sunday after church was Grandma Montgomery's dinner. (It's once a month with all the extended family.) She always has a cake with all the birthday names on it, and Nelly's name made it onto the cake!! (Unfortunately, the cake and icing was pure chocolate, so I didn't give Nelly a piece.)
After that, I made Nelly some homemade peanut butter dog biscuits. She loved them!! I actually tasted one, and wasn't too fond of it, but I'm sure to her, they're much better than her plain dog food.
The only ingredients were milk, an egg, flour, ground oatmeal, and peanut butter. I used mini girl and boy cookie cutters. They're pretty cute.
Sally was the only one who bought Nelly a present, and it's the cutest present I've seen in a long time. It was this dress with bows, and the bows have heart shaped "diamonds" in them!! She also bought her a pink rubber bone, and Nelly loves it!! It shreds pretty easily though, so we have to keep her contained otherwise we'll have pink rubber pieces everywhere. :)
