I just got done reading The Host, by Stephenie Meyer, and I have two words to describe it:
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!
I haven't been that drawn into a book in a really long time! And I was so drawn into it that I think I might have set a record reading it. It was 620ish pages, and it only took me 5 days! That is all I have been doing these past few days. It's a good thing last week was my spring break and I had nothing else I needed to be doing.
I was really hesitant about reading it, simply because it's about aliens. That's a little too strange for me. But it was for a book club, so I did it anyway, and I'm so glad I did!
I love the feeling of being drawn into books; feeling like I belong to the world described in the book; feeling like anything is possible, including aliens; and feeling like I have no cares in the world except for the ending of the book I'm reading. There almost isn't anything better. And the best part about being so drawn into books, is that I can tune out everything else happening around me when I'm reading. It really is like I'm inside the story.
I am not a TV watcher. I'd much rather sit down with a book any day than sit in front of the television. And I love the way it feels!!

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked it! I REALLY enjoy it too!!! We did miss you at book club and I'm sad you won't be around anymore to come. Hopefully you'll find a good book club in Idaho!
